10 years of coffee and cake, cocktails and tapas!

October is our birthday month. In fact, our official birthday is Friday 27th October. And this year it's a milestone; we're turning 10!



Being somewhere for you to get together by day and by night, has been important to us from the very beginning.


When we first opened, Shefford and the surrounded villages of Clifton, Campton, Henlow and Langford had plenty of pubs, but very few (if any!) coffee shops.

Very quickly The Loft became a space for friends, work-mates and families to catch up over breakfast, brunch and lunch. We also introduced a new way of dining to Shefford; Spanish inspired tapas.



Thursday, Friday and Saturday night's The Loft hosted dinner dates, nights out with the girls and more, whilst the freshly made cocktails, wine and tapas flowed.


In December 2017 The Loft began a new chapter; under the ownership and management of mother and daughter team Wendy and Hannah Mitchell.

Having worked within the business several years prior to taking it over, Wendy ensured The Loft stayed true to it's day-one values.



Weather you pop-by for a generous slice of home-made cake, a full English breakfast or Spanish inspired tapas with cocktails - everything is made fresh and sourced as locally as possible. As well good standards of service, The Loft prides itself in welcoming everybody with a smile.


Despite challenges of lock downs and a cost-of-living crisis, The Loft has evolved to being much more than great coffee, homemade cakes and tasty brunches and tapas. Our charity quiz nights, tarrot card evenings, Blingo and more has built a community.

Small businesses, like ours, rely on community. The Loft is here for you, for Shefford and the surrounding villages. We THANK YOU from the bottom of our heart for the last 10 years. We THANK YOU for every coffee, cocktail, piece of cake and potatas bravas!


Our hope for the future is more of the same; more tasty food and drinks, more smiling faces and more friends.


The Loft Shefford opened in October 2013, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch by day and Spanish inspired tapas by night.
